The LaNoodle Pillow Education

I consider myself a country boy with a broad, somewhat worldly perspective. I was born in Maryland. I grew up in North Carolina and Virginia. There are some things country folk are known for, but healthy lifestyles has never been one of them. That being said, I know that there is a certain amount of education that has to occur for someone like me, when it comes to organic products and healthy living. Add to that, I am an overweight, type 2 diabetic, which is a further indication that I do not have a great track record of making healthy choices.

But I’m still fighting to change all that. I’ve cut out fried foods as much as absolutely possible. I’m eating more kale than any ten human beings around me at any given moment these days. Hell, I even got a bike for Christmas … and I’m actually riding it. I’m getting healthier is my point.

TroyLaNoodle
I’m not much of a sleeper, but the LaNoodle pillow is teaching me that a healthy life begins with healthy sleep.

So, coming to work at CozyPure has been a huge step in the right direction and a graduation to another level of educating myself about healthier living. And let me just preface the rest of this by saying that listed on my chart of medical conditions is occasional bouts of insomnia. These bouts have been so frequent that I’ve sort of written off the notion of getting a lot of healthy sleep in my life. But as I’ve learned in a short period of time of working and researching sleep issues at CozyPure, it is definitely something I need to pay more attention to on my quest to healthier living. More sleep equals more energy. And more energy equals more weight loss. I’d clearly neglected a vital link in the chain to a healthier me. I need to solve this whole sleep conundrum.

Step one to solving this mystery has been sleeping on CozyPure’s bestselling LaNoodle pillow. While I can’t speak to the science of what tiny, little latex noodles masterfully stuffed in an organic casing should do for helping you sleep, but I feel tremendous after sleeping on one of these organic gems.

My neck pain has reduced greatly, as the LaNoodle cradles my rather bulbous head and shoulders in a way that makes drifting off to sleep a much less daunting task. With each passing night of sleeping on the LaNoodle pillow, I value sleep a bit more. And that is huge for me.
I don’t think any other product could’ve affected that change in me.

Sleeping on my new LaNoodle pillow, I begin to think maybe my sleep woes are more a case of I’ve been doing it, but I haven’t been doing it with the right tools. I guess it’s the equivalent of eating your farm fresh peas with a fork with only one tine. You can get it done but it probably could be done better with a spoon. So I’m thrilled I turned in my old pillow for a CozyPure LaNoodle pillow. It has opened the door to the school of healthy sleep. I can’t wait to see what CozyPure’s entire sleep system has to teach this country boy.

How the CozyPure® Contour Pillow Changed My Life!

Purely sensational headline? Not to me! It’s the truth. If you’ve ever woken up with a stiff neck, you know how that stiffness and discomfort can affect your whole body, all day. Imagine waking up each and every day like that, for years! It had gotten so bad that one morning I woke with my head actually laying on my shoulder, the muscles in such a tight spasm that I could not lift my head up.

Prior to that episode, in the early 1990’s, I tried many remedies, not the least of which was a series of expensive (and toxic) thermal foam pillows, at well over $100 each, with no improvement. I finally went to a neurologist and began receiving botulinum toxin (Botox) shots into the muscles of my neck. I took these shots for years and it helped, but it was painful and expensive.

When the stiffness and discomfort returned, I was about ready to go back to the expensive, painful botox shots to avoid the crippling spasms. As it happens, I was a new employee at CozyPure® and learning how quality, deep sleep improves your whole heath, and ironically, Cheryl was beginning to prototype a new contour pillow and looking for feedback. When she heard about my neck issues, she asked if I would do the testing.

LaNoodle-Contour copy

The first night I was immediately impressed by the comfort and support under my neck. It’s important to know that I am primarily a side sleeper, and as I slept on it, I realized that other qualities of the pillow were also helping my comfort. The contour in the center not only provided a gentle curve that was supportive, but was also easily compressible and adjustable for my neck. Also the hollow of the contour allowed my ear to rest without causing any numbness from the pressure of my head against the pillow surface. In addition, my head was supported perfectly, so my neck didn’t curve downward.

This pillow was a revelation for me! With my neck aligned in it’s natural, neutral position, the stiffness and discomfort were drastically reduced. Now I wake up each day with my neck freely able to turn from side to side. My friends and family have commented that my head is sitting straighter on my shoulders, and I’ve noticed it myself in pictures.

My neck problem is a neurological one for which there is no permanent remedy. I had been resigned to the fact that I would periodically have to undergo the botox treatments for the rest of my life. Instead now, I sleep comfortably all night, and am able to function normally, with my head straight and movable… rehabilitated without botox shots!

It’s been over three years of comfort and blissful sleep because the CozyPure® Contour Pillow changed my life, and I am so grateful!

UNDERCOVER: KILLING US SOFTLY. A look at the ingredients inside mattress components

YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT… AND SLEEP.
Besides food, our mattress and bedding are probably the most intimate products we use everyday. Not only are we up-close and personal with our sleep products, keep in mind we spend a 1/3 of our lives sleeping.

Collectively that’s a solid four months every year we spend in bed. Because we rarely give it thought, most of us are more concerned about the food we put in our mouth rather than the pillow we have up against our nose for eight hours every night.

MEMORY FOAM
Memory foam is a petroleum-based polyurethane with additional unregulated “proprietary” chemicals which increase the viscosity and density of the foam. The proprietary formula is what “sucks you in” as you lay helplessly trapped inside a squishy sink-hole of chemicals.

MemoryFoam

A class action suit has been filed in California courts alleging that Tempurpedic’s memory foam mattresses contain harmful VOCs. They believe the company has minimized the problem when advertising their products by stating that the odors will dissipate and that products are VOC-free, when formaldehyde and other odors may continue to be released for months. To date, there’s been no resolution; the suit is still active.

THE CLAIM ON THE ATTORNEY’S WEBSITE states that formaldehyde, a strong VOC and known carcinogen, has been identified in laboratory testing of Tempurpedic products.

Manufacturers are not legally required to disclose the chemicals in mattresses.

Memory foam can help reduce pressure points which is why it’s a popular choice for mattresses and pillows, however its low resiliency doesn’t offer total full-body support for your entire body and heavier parts of your body will sink in more. The deeper you sink into the mattress, the more likely you’ll “sleep hot.” It should also be noted that the temperature of your bedroom can lead to the mattress becoming “too soft” or “too hard.” Most of these attributes are contributed directly to the chemical composition used to make memory foam.

DON’T BE FOOLED BY SOY-FOAM
Consumer awareness is growing and chemical manufacturers are developing marketing gimmicks which fool consumers into believing certain foams are safer, healthier and eco-friendly.

soyfoam

Take for example soy-based or bio-based foam. What they don’t tell you is that the foam contains very little soy. In fact, it is more accurate to call it polyurethane based foam with just a little soy added for marketing purposes. In fact, to date, the highest percentage of soy used in foam is only 20%. Since polyurethane foam is made by combining two main ingredients — a polyol and an isocyanate — in approximate equal parts, “20% soy based” translates to a mere 10% of the foam’s total volume and 90% as polyurethane.

POLYURETHANE FOAMS AND FIRE RETARDANTS
Large amounts of unregulated chemicals can be found in almost all synthetic foams (including soy-foam). The basic ingredients include polyols, isocyanates, blowing agents, and other additives including flame retardants. Although PBDEs have finally been phased out due to documented health hazards, new alternative chemicals are now being used in their place during the manufacture of flexible polyurethane foam. In addition, many fabrics are coated with both stain-resistant chemicals and flame retardant chemicals.

According to a recent EPA report released in August of 2015, most of these newer chemicals still have “limited data” with notes such as: “There is uncertainty due to lack of data for this substance. XYZ is estimated to have uncertain potential for carcinogenicity based on analogy to a closely related confidential analog and professional judgment; carcinogenic effects cannot be ruled out.”

Most exposure to flame retardants occurs after the chemicals migrate out of a product’s foam and settle into household dust, which then enter our bodies. The chemicals are constantly dispersing into the air, then settling. Exposure comes primarily from ingesting contaminated dust.

“Additive flame retardants are expected to be more mobile during the consumer use phase, and have been widely identified in air and house dust, supporting the idea that additive flame retardants can mobilize from a plastic or foam into the local micro-environment.”
-EPA Report 8/15

Mattresses made with foams that have the CertiPUR® label are marketed as a safer foam with a certification from “The Alliance for Flexible Polyurethane Foam”. The Alliance is made up of foam manufacturers who certify their own foam to their own standards.

One such standard is the foam is made without PBDEs, TDCPP or TCEP Tris flame retardants. PBDEs  have been phased out and Chlorinated Tris is banned in many states. The chemical industry is replacing the banned FRs with newer, untested chemicals.

According to Heather Stapleton, Ph.D. in environmental chemistry and authority figure on the toxicity of flame retardants, “The (Certipur) label… is simply an advertisement for the Certipur program. This is a program developed by US polyurethane foam manufacturers to demonstrate environmental stewardship. It means that the foam used in that product has been tested for several known toxins including VOCs, metals and a few flame retardants. But the product can certainly still contain a flame retardant and have the Certipur label. There are many (FR chemicals) in use on the market today that are not tested in the Certipur program and for which we have concerns about health effects.”

certifpur“We don’t know as much about the health effects of replacement flame retardants,” according to Stapleton, “but a few studies have shown that these new chemicals may also disrupt hormone function.

CozyPure® doesn’t use polyurethane foam, soy-foam, memory foam, chemical flame retardants or treated fabrics. Our natural rubber latex is wrapped inside organic cotton quilted to wool which passes the Open Flame Federal Regulation. Wool self-extinguishes and doesn’t burn black toxic smoke when ignited. Why toss and turn all night worrying about unknown chemicals and flame retardants when you can sleep soundly on a mattress made exclusively from organic and natural ingredients?

SYNTHETIC LATEX, BLENDED LATEX, NATURAL LATEX
Synthetic latex (SBR) is derived mainly from the industrial chemicals styrene and butadiene. These copolymers are emulsified, and other chemical agents are added as stabilizers for polymerization and vulcanization.

Natural latex rubber (NR) is derived using 100% of the milk from the hevea brasiliensis rubber tree. Additional ingredients (less than 5% combined) include soda ash, zinc and soap which are whipped together with the rubber milk. The frothy mixture is then poured into a pan and baked — just like a cake!

100-natural-latex

Most latex offered in mattresses is either 100% synthetic or a blend of 80% synthetic and 20% natural. Manufacturers, like CozyPure®, who specialize in organic and natural materials offer only 100% natural latex rubber mattresses, with no synthetics, fillers or blends.

Trying to determine what kind of latex is in a mattress can be very difficult for consumers because of confusing wording or phrasing. For instance terms like “pure latex” many times refers to 100% synthetic man-made chemical latex because it is pure (solid) latex. Terms such as “made from natural latex” often refers to blended versions that have only a portion of natural, hence they can say “made from” even if it’s only made from 20% natural. Confusing right? We agree. And trying to find the correct answers, can be challenging.

Unfortunately most salespeople, especially in larger retail stores, often don’t know the difference so there’s a huge probability you’ll receive inaccurate information (we know because we’ve visited most of them). Be aware also, that many retailers will label a mattress as being a latex mattress even if it has as little as 1” of latex in its construction.

gols-organic-latex
Organic Latex Rubber will have the certification, for example the CozyPure organic latex shown above features the GOLS label.

If you’re not sure about the latex in a certain mattress, ask to see the certifications or check the law label. To find mattresses made only from solid 100% natural latex rubber, the best bet is a smaller manufacturer who specializes in using only natural materials, like CozyPure®.

CozyPure Cuddle-Up Club Slumber Party

Loyal customers gather to learn more about how organic comfort is made fresh daily at CozyPure.

CozyPure has been in business for 25 years. In that time, it has gained quite a following of loyal customers across the country. With a product so durable, sustainable and amazingly comfortable, a lot of praise has been offered from our customers. Being such informed consumers, many CozyPure customers are curious how organic comfort is made fresh daily, right here in the CozyPure workshop in Norfolk, Virginia.

_MG_1144_editedSlumber party guests, from left to right, Gaye Pietrocola, Michelle Germano, Cindy Thebaud, and Cindy Lee Hall learn about the making of CozyPure comforters and toppers in the workshop. Hahn, right, explains how the skilled artisans stitch, tuft and sew CozyPure products.

So, to say thank you to a few of our local customers and to demystify the CozyPure process, we hosted our first Slumber Party. On a cool evening on Oct. 8, 2015, guests were treated to an evening of refreshments, fun and an intimate look at the CozyPure organic bed making process.

slumber-party1

Over the course of the evening, our guests shared their stories of how they arrived at selecting their CozyPure sleep system. Many had tried so many others before coming to CozyPure. Guest Heather Mayes, after having purchased a mattress from another manufacturer, said her previous mattress, felt uncomfortable, “like sleeping on a marshmallow.” Since getting her CozyPure organic sleep system a few months ago, Heather has enjoyed more restful sleep in total comfort.

slumber-party3

Another guest, Gaye Pietrocola, has been a CozyPure organic bed owner for years. Among the other health benefits of sleeping on her CozyPure mattress, she and her husband Greg really appreciate the ease of being able to adjust the firmness of their mattress anytime they need to. “We just unzip it and adjust it,” she said, “it’s fun.”

IMG_3544

As CozyPure owner Cheryl Hahn guided the excited guests through the workshop, they got a chance to see the entire process before their eyes. Having nothing to hide in the CozyPure bed making process, guests got to see and feel the materials—organic cotton, therapeutic wool, and natural organic latex. Hahn explained that the milk of the rubber tree is slowly extracted from thousands of rubber trees on the plantations of Sri Lanka, each mattress requiring roughly 2,500 teaspoons of pure rubber milk to make one mattress. She also explained to intrigued guests how the milk is then prepared and baked in a mold, kind of like your favorite cake. No filler. No foams. No lies. Just pure organic comfort.

_MG_1139

Guests also got to feel the soft and luxurious LaNoodles found in CozyPure’s best selling LaNoodle pillows that are amazingly comfortable, resilient and sustainable.

At the conclusion of the first CozyPure Cuddle Up Club Slumber Party, guests played pin the tail on the lamb. The winner, Cindy Lee Hall, received a new CozyPure Wool Euro Pillow. Each guest also received gift bags with travel-size LaNoodle Pillows and other goodies.

IMG_3575

More importantly, what we at CozyPure hope our Slumber Party guests and our everyday customers walk away with is an understanding that CozyPure is genuinely committed to providing its customers with a quality handmade organic product, free of toxins and harmful chemicals. There are no secrets or hidden ingredients in the organic mattresses and bedding at CozyPure. We work very hard to maintain a “Farm-to-Bed” freshness and purity in all our CozyPure products. We invite every one to come see what goes on in our workshop at 2308 Granby Street in Norfolk, VA. We are always willing to give you a tour of our workshop so you can see the organic magic happen for yourself.

And who knows? Once you purchase your CozyPure organic sleep system, we may see you at our next Slumber Party. Don’t forget your PJs!

ORGANIC COMFORT MADE FRESH DAILY with Farm Fresh Ingredients

Organic Comfort Made Fresh Daily with Farm Fresh ingredients

NATURAL LATEX RUBBERRubberTree_Milk_copy

SUPERIOR MATTRESS MATERIAL In 1931, the world’s first latex mattress was made. The features of not having to be flipped, staying fresh, responsive, supportive and keeping its shape made the mattress a huge success.

PROVEN TO PROVIDE HEALTHIER SLEEP The year 1954, latex foam is proven to contain exceptionally high anti-bacterial properties by Dr. Theo Lammers from the Institute of Hygiene Gutenburg University, making it the hygienic ideal for mattresses, superior to all other materials: unsurpassed in comfort and support, exceptional durability, stays cool, and is the healthiest choice due to its high anti-bacterial and allergy-free properties.

IDEAL FOR ASTHMA AND RESPIRATORY DISORDERS Further work in 1956 by Drs Fuchs & Gronemeyer at the Asthma Clinic, concluded, “the advantages of latex foam mattresses have been outlined by health and surgical authorities and the bacteriostatic (capable of killing bacteria), as well as fungus and mite resistant properties of latex material found by Lammers is confirmed.”
Throughout the decades, the cost of this premium material made it more expensive for manufacturers to produce and consumers often didn’t want to buy this higher priced option, thus latex mattresses were soon overshadowed by beds made with synthetic batting and petroleum foams placed over innerspring coils.

BOUNCING BACK In 1991, our flagship mail order catalog, Tomorrow’s World, was one of the first companies to offer a selection of natural latex mattresses made with organic cotton and wool. Consumers are beginning to understand the value equation of their purchases and realize that investing in a quality latex mattress will pay for itself many times over the lifetime of use it provides.

DECEPTIONS The popularity of latex mattresses comes with a price to consumer research. Many “so called” latex mattresses often only contain a small layer surrounded by foam and/or coils. Some “natural” latex really only contains a percentage of natural. Even materials such as “organic cotton” are being advertised on certain mattresses when in fact the fabric is blended with synthetic polyester. In this era of popularity for latex mattresses it’s imperative for the consumer to do thorough research so they can be 100% sure they are getting the product they think they are purchasing.

HOW OUR NATURAL LATEX RUBBER IS MADE Rubber tapping is the process by which rubber is harvested. An incision is made in the bark of a rubber tree, which cuts through the bark so the latex drips into a collecting cup. The work is done at night or in the early morning before the day’s temperature rises, so the latex will drip longer before coagulating and sealing the cut. Rubber tapping does not hurt the trees and it’s a great way for the indigenous people to make a living using their natural resources.

Each rubber tree weeps about one tablespoon of latex daily and a Queen size 6” core needs the daily output of 2500 trees, spread over 12 acres of rubber plantation, providing a living to eight rubber tappers. Interestingly, these rubber trees account for the removal of 143 metric tons of carbon dioxide from the environment every year.

100_natural_latex_rubberDon’t let the “creaminess” fool ya. Our natural latex rubber is made from the milk
of the Hevea Brasiliensis (rubber tree), so some folks think it will be too soft (like milk).
Actually, natural latex rubber is the firmest, heaviest and most durable component you
can use inside a mattress. Once the rubber tree milk sap is harvested and baked, this solid,
thick core can last for decades offering you support and comfort -WITHOUT the chemicals.

Natural latex rubber is proven to be the very best component used for mattress support, comfort, durability, as well as offering a healthier sleeping environment. It’s naturally dust mite resistant; it’s breathable so you don’t sleep hot; it’s resiliency is known to last for decades; it’s responsive support offers comfort and proper alignment.

Our natural latex is made from 100% natural rubber direct from the beautiful island of Sri Lanka, known for the finest rubber plantations in the world. No synthetic latex. No poly foams. No fillers. No lies.

THERAPEUTIC PURE WOOL
sheep
TEMPERATURE REGULATING AND HELPS KEEPS YOU DRY Wool provides a temperature controlled sleep environment that’s perfect for your body. No matter the season, wool is able to maintain the perfect body temperature. In the winter wool produces warmth without overheating and has the ability to keep you comfortable and in the summer you don’t overheat because of its moisture wicking process.

The average sleeper looses a pint of moisture every night and wool is able to absorb this moisture without feeling damp. The cells of wool fibers are able to quickly and efficiently absorb and evaporate moisture. Due to the natural crinkled structure, wool has an enormous capacity to store air. This property allows your skin to breathe as you sleep surrounded by natural, dry warmth – without the clammy feeling associated with synthetic materials. You’ll wake up well rested and refreshed. It’s the perfect ingredient for your mattress and comforter.

CALMS THE HEART FOR DEEPER SLEEP Studies show that the heart rate is significantly lower when sleeping with wool. Feathers, down, polyester and other synthetic fibers had no effect on (and sometimes increased) the sleeper’s heart rate. A lowered heart rate induces a deep, relaxed sleep.

NO DUST-MITES, MOLD OR MILDEW People with allergies are able to use wool products because it is resistant to bacteria, mold and mildew which can trigger allergic reactions. Wool is also dust-mite resistant because it evaporates moisture rapidly and dust-mites can’t thrive in a dry environment. Our wool is not chemically acid-washed, and it’s also completely covered in organic cotton, so even people with wool allergies can enjoy sleeping with a CozyPure® mattress and comforter.

NATURALLY FLAME RESISTANT Using ONLY WOOL we passed Federal Regulation PART 1633 – Standard for the Flammability (Open Flame) of Mattresses – so we don’t need to add any FR barrier or chemicals.

Because healthy bedding materials are becoming more popular, many manufacturers are now adding wool as a marketing tool – but that doesn’t mean the wool is the actual fire barrier. In most cases you’ll find they add wool under the fire barrier just so they can “claim wool” simply to sell their mattress.

OUR MATERIALS ARE NATURAL, RENEWABLE AND SUSTAINABLE

CERTIFIED ORGANIC COTTON

Cotton

Most consumers are unaware of the abundant textiles available to manufacture “green goods” and the opportunity to market products deceptively, otherwise known as “greenwashing”.  A perfect example is mattress ticking, the fabric used on the outside of a mattress.

Many mattresses offered today are marketed with “organic cotton” or “bamboo” fabric, however they neglect to tell you the content breakdown.

Mattress knits are comprised of three components: the face (top side), the fill (inside), the back (bottom). The majority of “organic cotton” knits feature organic cotton only on the top side. That is, the inside and bottom of the knit is made from polyester. These fabrics are advertised misleadingly to the consumer as “organic cotton” even though only 33% of the fabric is really organic.

CozyPure® never uses polyester blends in our fabrics. Adding synthetics would defeat our purpose of creating a natural sleep system that breathes. Man-made synthetic materials can trap heat and moisture which won’t allow breathability of the fabric. We also don’t process our organic cotton with chemical finishes such as formaldehyde, which is often used on wrinkle-resistant sheets.

SLEEP: How Do I Love Thee? No More Counting Sheep For Me!

With my CozyPure Hotel Collection, counting sheep is a thing of the past.

The “experts” tell us that we need to replace our sleep systems every 6-8 years. I had reached a milestone with my old mattress and so I set off on a quest. If you’ve ever been mattress shopping you know what I mean when I say the process is down right daunting. I ended up with what I thought was going to provide me with an awesome night’s sleep. It was one of those “S” brands, latest hybrid technology, part gel memory foam, part advanced innerspring. Most importantly, the gel infused pillowtop promised to keep me cool (women of a certain age know what I’m talking about.) And it felt great in the showroom for the 15 minutes I actually spent lying down on it. Fast forward and several thousand dollars later….I can’t sleep! I toss, I turn, it’s hot, I’m at the bottom of a ravine and I can’t climb out!

I came to work at CozyPure and the first thing I did was purchase the CozyPure® Luxury Hotel Collection. It was a life changer. By now I knew a thing or two about mattresses. What’s in them, what’s not. A product consisting of three ingredients with names I could pronounce just makes sense. The collection includes a natural latex rubber mattress complete with all the organic bedding you need for a total bed makeover: organic mattress protector, our exclusive Cuddle-Top latex topper (like a cloud, no exaggeration), a hand-tied wool comforter, natural latex LaNoodle pillows (another exclusive), certified organic cotton sheets, pillowcases and duvet cover. Organic cotton. Pure wool. Harvested rubber. Fresh. Sumptuous.

CozyPure Luxury Hotel Collection

There are so many reasons why I love my CozyPure mattress. I have multiple sensitivities. Even if you don’t suffer from allergies, like I do, imagine the peace of mind knowing that your mattress is anti-microbial, anti dust-mite and mold resistant. Sleep hot? Thing of the past. The top of our mattress is quilted with temperature regulating wool. Wool is very therapeutic and proven to provide deep, healthy sleep. Speaking of wool, did you know that when properly compressed, wool is a natural fire barrier? That’s right, we use wool to pass the open-flame test without adding any fire retardants or toxic chemicals. And the latex? 100% milk from the rubber tree offers superior support and resiliency. Custom comfort? Absolutely. Individual comfort layers change out in a snap if your needs change, for whatever reason. Durability? I’m pretty sure this will be the last mattress I ever buy.

I now have a little slice of heaven where I go every night. I will say, it took me about a week to get used to my new latex mattress. It can take upwards of 30 days, especially if you’re body is misaligned from sleeping on a bad mattress. The CozyPure Hotel Collection addressed all of my needs and I have never slept better. Stop by our showroom. Visit our website. Read the reviews. Stop counting sheep!

THE HUMAN EXPERIMENT: Chemical Overload

People assume that if something’s for sale, it’s safe. Unfortunately, this is not true.

The Human Experiment, a documentary narrated by Sean Penn, investigates consumer products available for sale which we think are safe, yet contain thousands of unregulated chemicals.

Did you know that we’re exposed to over 80,000 potentially harmful synthetic chemicals every day? Of the almost 85,000 chemicals only 200 have been tested for safety.

Meanwhile, every year over 1,000 new chemicals are registered for use, yet unregulated for safety. Once you learn about some of the more shocking ingredients, you can start to phase them out by switching to safer alternative products. One of the easiest ways to do this is simply understanding the ingredients; if you don’t know a word listed on the label then it’s likely a chemical ingredient that you should research and find out if you’re comfortable using it.

We’re not saying all chemicals are bad. In fact some can help enhance our lives such as medications and certain plastics (eyeglasses, equipment, appliances, etc). However, since chemicals are virtually everywhere they’re basically impossible to eliminate completely which is why we suggest making your bedroom a sanctuary. It’s one place you really can choose safe, natural products to envelope yourself in a healthy healing space for eight hours and greatly reduce your chemical exposure.

The Workshop: Before and After

Some would say one of Maggie May’s greatest assets is her huge backside. After all, the main reason Cheryl sought out a new location was for more room to continue making organic comfort daily. And the old Ocean View location could no longer contain the steady growth CozyPure is experiencing. So, getting Maggie May in shape would give the skilled artisans a bigger area for storage and more elbow room to continue handcrafting organic mattresses and bedding.

Today, just beyond the dream-like showroom, Maggie May’s huge backside is the spacious workshop of the CozyPure artisans. It’s open spaces are now filled with the finest organic ingredients and the most talented and committed craftspeople in Norfolk. In their new space, they are preparing all organic mattresses and bedding with the efficiency and attention to detail you’d find at a premiere bistro. Order Up!
