The low-down on Good, Better, Best Latex Mattresses

The first thing customers ask about our mattresses is “Which one is good, better and best?”.

Our answer, “They are all our best mattresses.”

It may be hard to believe, but it’s the 100% truth. The average consumer is surrounded by businesses that advertise by having  their best product as the most expensive and their inferior product as the lowest price. It’s only natural for a customer to visit our showroom or website and expect the same.

All of the CozyPure® mattresses are built with the zoned natural latex performance core. This extremely durable core will last for YEARS along with giving you energy and making your good night’s sleep as comfortable as possible. When sleeping, your body should have the same alignment as if you were walking.  Our 5-Zone natural latex core helps  your body get in this recommended position.

Think of your body in 5 parts: Head, shoulders, lumbar, legs & feet. To perfectly align your spine you would want to target your shoulders and lumbar region. Your shoulders are a large bony structure but is not as heavy as the lumbar region which holds your stomach, hips and bottom. The 5-Zone is designed to support those heavier areas of the body while still being comfortable. Each zone has a different ILD (Indentation Load Density) giving each section of latex the correct level of density that will keep your body aligned with your spine. This means that the mattress is firmer near your lumbar area than your shoulders, head and legs.

In addition to using the Performance Core in our mattresses, we also cover all our mattresses with GOTS-certified organic cotton matelasse with pure wool quilted underneath.

Here are a few of the most popular natural latex organic mattress options provided by CozyPure®:

1. Pure Performance Core Support Natural Latex Organic Mattress

  • 5-Zone natural latex rubber mattress core
  • no added comfort layers- body will be in close contact with the five performance zones. giving you the ultimate recovery.

2. Pure Performance Cozy Cush Natural Latex Organic Mattress

  • 5-Zone natural latex performance core topped with a soft 1.5”natural latex layer for a little cushioning.

3. Pure Performance Plush Natural Latex Organic Mattress

  • 5-Zone natural latex performance core topped with 3” of natural latex layer. Making your bed softer

4. Pure Performance Perfection Natural Organic Mattress

  • 5-Zone natural latex performance core plus 3 extra inches of medium soft latex  topped with an additional 1.5 inches of a soft layer on the surface

5. CozyPure® Luxury Hotel Collection

  • 10” Natural Latex Plush Mattress with organic cotton and wool cover  OR
  • 8” Natural Latex Cush Mattress with organic and wool cover
  • Natural latex LaNoodle Cuddle Top
  • Hand -Tied European Style 100% wool comforter
  • 2 Natural Latex Standard Size LaNoodle Pillows
  • 100% Certified Organic Cotton Sateen Duvet Cover
  • 100% Certified Organic Cotton Percale Fitted Sheet
  • 100% Certified Organic Cotton Percale Flat Sheet
  • 100% Certified Organic Cotton Percale Pillowcases

CozyPure® mattresses are designed with the customers comfort in mind. Everyone has a different comfort level so don’t be fooled into thinking that the highest priced mattress is the best option for your comfort.

The truth with latex mattresses is that latex is a premium, costly component (but worth every penny). And it’s really pretty simple: the more latex you add to the mattress, the more expensive the mattress becomes.

CozyPure Latex LaNoodle Mattress Topper Comparison to Competitor [VIDEO]

We decided to order a competitors latex mattress topper and compare it to our LaNoodle Mattress Topper.

In the first part of the video I am testing the comfort level of the  competitors topper. I automatically notice a big difference between our LaNoodle Mattress Topper than the competitors. It felt more dense and had stitching that confines the inside materials to one spot. The box stitching also caused multiple uncomfortable dips in the topper that made my body fall in them.

When I compared it to the LaNoodle Topper I saw a great difference. The topper was softer and I could feel the LaNoodles moving freely to adjust to my individual comfort.

In the second half of the video Cheryl opens the competitors mattress topper and shows that inside appears to be inconsistent crumbs of leftover latex or residual latex scrapings. There were pieces of hard and soft latex crumbs mixed together with some that were even paper thin.

When you compare the LaNoodle to the latex crumbs you will find that having the consistent type of latex makes a difference on the level of softness and comfort when you sleep. Hopefully by watching this video we can help others make informed decisions when they decide to purchase other “natural latex” products.

Sometimes its best to just speak with the experts. Give us a call at 800-229-7971

Made In The U.S.A

At Organic Comfort Zone we pride ourselves on making all of our CozyPure® products in the U.S.A. When you decide to purchase a product that was completely made in the USA like our LaNoodle pillow versus foreign countries you will feel the highest quality of comfort.

When someone purchases a “Made in the U.S.A” product they can be fairly confident that it is safe. In America we have consumer protection laws and safety standards that protect you and your family. Some foreign countries have low safety standards. Think about how many children’s toys made overseas that ave been recalled because they have been found unsafe or toxic.

The U.S. manufacturing processes implemented here at Organic Comfort Zone are much cleaner for our environment, especially considering we generate our own energy, minimize scraps, and don’t have any chemicals on our premises. Many products produced overseas where there is no regulation, use dangerous processes that pollute our environment. We choose chemical- free organic eco-smart materials to create our CozyPure® products which provide a healthy and comfortable sleep.

Manufacturers of organic bedding and mattresses

CozyPure® is so much more than simply a “name-only” brand. Since we are the manufacturer, we are NOT exclusive to being only a retailer, instead we’re a “vertical retailer” which means although we do retail our products direct to the consumer, we also have complete control of those products since we are also the manufacturer.

American Apparel operates under the same structure. And just like us, they too use only employees, friends and customers in their photos and advertisements. We also do virtually everything in-house: from concept and design to marketing and branding to production, packaging and shipping. We have found this is really the only way to maintain the integrity of our brand and produce products that deliver quality and value, while also providing health benefits to both people and planet.

We are NOT a private label, which is usually a stock product from a manufacturers line that has a store brand label attached.  We found two websites that state we’re private label, which of course is wrong. Just another reason to be careful what you read out there in cyberspace.

If you visit us you’ll find an abundance of natural and organic raw materials: bolts of certified organic cotton fabric, rolls of both organic cotton and wool batting, natural latex rubber cores, comfort layers, containers of kapok and buckwheat hulls, and of course thousands of LaNoodles.

You’ll notice our bright clean factory with sewing machines and cutting equipment, tufting needles and shears in all sizes, patterns and tape measures, and a floor-to-ceiling shelf packed with prototypes of products-in-the-making.

If you’re really observant you’ll see we have no waste. During patterning we spec our materials for cutting with the least amount of scrap — and even the scrap we spec to tailor towards the manufacture of other products. Waste not want not.

What really makes us unique is the fact that we’re energy-efficient and generate our own renewable energy on-site. Two huge wind turbines in the back and a full array of solar panels on our roof, tie-into our electric meter which runs backwards once we shut down our daily operations.

You can feel confident that we’re a true-green company: from our selection of raw materials, to our manufacturing practices, to our use of renewable energy. We come full-circle start to finish and don’t “just talk” about being green like SO many other manufacturers – we actually “Walk the Talk“.

Manufacturing, specifically in the mattress and bedding industry, is overwhelmingly owned and operated by the male gender; the percentage of women is lower than many other industries. Perhaps that is why some of our competitors claim we’re not manufacturers – they just can’t wrap their heads around the fact that a woman could head-up of the operations of a manufacturing factory. Of course this is only my assumption. But since they assume, I can also assume why they’re assumption is entirely inaccurate.  I wanted to write this post because when these false statements were called to my attention, I felt an obligation to “call them out”.

In case you didn’t see it, we recently made a little video showing our factory operations and posted that < here >.

I wanted to assure our customers that we are in fact the actual manufacturer of our CozyPure® products. It’s a joy for me to research the quality of materials, design with function, practicality, value and aesthetics, to provide organic comfort products that I find suitable for use with my own family. There is much to talk about here so I will save this matter and elaborate more details later since May is BETTER SLEEP MONTH and we’ll be going “under cover” to talk about bedding materials. In the meantime…

If you should have any questions or concerns about our products or our company, please be sure to give us a call during normal business hours at 800.229.7571. It is always our pleasure to serve you.

Thank you for twenty years of support.

Green Living Made in the USA Natural Home Products & Sales

Green Living is a Lifestyle

Earth Day is Friday and it’s always a special holiday celebration for us here at Organic Comfort Zone. Our flagship company, Tomorrow’s World, was one of America’s very first “Green stores” and after 20 years we’re pleased as 100% pure punch we’re still around to offer some great eco-friendly basics.

So many green products are also helpful to the end-user, whether it’s being more healthy, saving you money, or better durability. We like to take it a step further since we manufacture our brand products right here in the USA. We never outsource overseas so we’re keeping it local for our transportation carbon footprint as well doing a small part to keep jobs here in America.

Look for products that can help save you money. Energy and water conservation products will cut on your utility usage. Water filters are a great investment since you’ll not have to purchase bottled water.  Choose quality home products designed to last so you’re not replacing them all the time. Better still, choose quality products made from natural and renewable resources – they’re healthier for you and better for our planet.

If you haven’t seen the “Story of Stuff” put it on your list of things to do this week in honor of Celebrating Earth Day. It’s a wonderful 20 minute short film about planned obsolescence and how most products are actually made to fall apart and break down. How we abuse overseas labor and toxic chemicals to make products cheaper. It’s a very insightful little film that will get you thinking about products before you buy them.

After watching the movie you may find yourself rethinking your buying habits. Cheap disposable products won’t seem as appealing anymore and you’ll want to invest in quality products – like the products we offer. We’re pretty strict on our standards and take pride in the longevity of our products.  Take a peek for yourself and visit CozyPure next time you’re looking for organic bedding. If you need a few green-living basics (like water filters or canvas shopping bags) then visit the www.tomorrowsworld.com website.

In fact- if you hurry –

Tomorrow’s World has a store-wide sale going on right now. 15% off everything even clearance items! The sale ends April 24, 2011 so take a visit over there for some fantastic eco-friendly basics that help you live a green lifestyle while saving a little green in your wallet too.

What Part Do You Play in the American Economy?

flag.jpgWe all agree that the state of the American economy is not good – but really who is at fault? The Government? The War? Or could it be that a large part of the blame should be placed right in the hands of the American citizens?

Consider for a few minutes your purchases over the past couple of years – all of your purchases; from laundry detergent to appliances and automobiles. How many, (if any), were American made? My guess is if you are like most Americans; not many.

With the slightest bit of logic, it’s easy to predict and conclude the economic outlook and if you squint your eyes, you can see who is making the large profits; the folks at the top of companies that import cheap foreign products.

Granted, at one time or another, we have all bought into the hype of the discount merchandisers – more stuff for lower prices, but we lost sight of the long-term consequences which is financial devastation for our own economy.

Compound the financial decline, the lack of quality control and the environmental impact manufacturing and importing foreign goods has and the inexpensive imported products prove to be much less of a bargain than originally thought. In the long term; cheap imported merchandise is much more costly than quality American made products.

When buying American manufactured goods, a consumer can be assured a higher quality and that the dollars they spend are recycled back into the economy, thereby enriching American koffers. The money spent on American goods re-circulates, helping to empower the economy, thereby enriching all of us.

Commonly, people excuse themselves when asked why they did not consider purchasing American made by explaining the difficulties and effort involved in finding homegrown merchandise. Today, that excuse is voided thanks to the internet. With little energy, American made goods can be found online and delivered right to the customer’s door. Less stress and a wider selection is only a few key strokes away.

Granted, I work for an American company that sells American made products and it is in my best interest for customers to purchase from CozyPure®, but if you trace the origins of our merchandise, you will find that the chain extends well beyond the sales floor and how many people are reliant on your purchase.

A CozyPure® mattress begins with the milk of the rubber tree which is converted into natural latex rubber foam. The cotton used is American grown Certified Organic Cotton and is the absolute most pure form of cotton available today. No pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers are used during it’s cultivation and no chemicals or preservatives (such as formaldehyde) are added in the processing. It is premium cotton that’s pure and clean – soft and beautiful. The cotton is carefully milled in America in order to create a safe, beautiful finish.

Like our cotton, CozyPure® wool is also American farmed. In the natural surroundings of the northern coastal areas, there is always a fairly strong sea breeze and in the course of time, the high humidity combined with the cold wind has created an environment where the sheep have learned to protect themselves against these harsh weather conditions by developing a thick and long-crinkled fleece with an extremely high content of lanoline. The high crinkle factor of our pure wool provides a unique thermal system: while regulating air; it insulates warmth at the same time.

From growing the cotton, raising the sheep, carding the wool and milling the cotton to finally, building our mattresses and creating our fine line of bedding products; we are keeping Americans employed. The entire process from placing the cotton seed in the grown to the delivery driver who delivers yours beautiful organic mattress and bedding is all part of the chain that keeps your American dollar recycling and improving the economy while providing you with a healthy, safe, quality, organic and natural sleep system.
